The EU presents measures to ease flow of goods from Britain to Northern Ireland

The European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic has outlined measures aimed at easing the transit of goods between Britain and Northern Ireland and post Brexit tensions. Brussels agreed to eliminate the vast majority of Northern Ireland border checks in a major Brexit breakthrough. EU chiefs tabled plans to wipe out 80% of red tape on fresh food products and half of paperwork for all other goods. This comes as the port of Felixstowe is in meltdown with huge lines of containers backed up leading to shortages on shop shelves which could ruin Christmas.
