Tributes have poured in for "true gent" Conservative MP Sir David Amess who has died after being stabbed at his constituency surgery in Leigh. The 69-year-old, who has been an MP since 1983, was stabbed several times during a “very distressing” incident in Essex. Police said a 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after the stabbing. Tributes have poured in from across the political divide for the politician who was described as a "friend to everyone".
