Ukrainian President Zelensky meets Iraqi PM at Arab League Summit in Jeddah
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy met Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia-al-Sudani on Friday (May 19) on the sidelines of the Arab League Summit in Jeddah. Addressing the summit, Zelenskiy, who wants to build support for Kyiv's battle against Russia, asked the delegates to support Ukraine's formula for peace and thanked Riyadh for its role in mediating a prisoner release last year. A French government plane took Zelenskiy to the summit in Saudi Arabia and will later take him to the G7 summit in Hiroshima, a source familiar with the matter told Reuters.
