Ukraine is about to launch a major high-stakes counter-offensive in efforts to recapture a crucial city from the Russians. Ukrainian troops are retaking nearby villages in and around the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine. Inching close and closer to what could be one of the most significant battles of this war. The Ukrainians are launching yet another barrage of long-range rockets on a critical bridge leading out of Kherson. The bridge is vital for the Russians, they use it to resupply their troops in the city. It’s also a major escape route should the Russians need to retreat Video shows massive craters in that bridge. After the latest attack, Ukraine’s military publicly teased the Russians and said the only way out of Kherson now is on foot or by water. Oleksii Hromov, deputy chief of the Ukrainian army's main operational department, said that "there is significant damage to the bridge and its structure. We think that the enemy will try once again to repair it." He added that Ukraine was prepared to respond to efforts by Russia to repair the bridge. Kherson was the first Ukrainian city to fall to the Russians back in March. If Ukrainian troops take it back, analysts say that could change the balance of power on the southern front.
