Appointments: Lacey is first COO at Integrated Graphene, Midsummer co-founder steps up to CEO
Andrew Lacey is to fill the newly-created COO position at Integrated Graphene, a company built around a carbon-based electro-active material it brands ‘Gii’.
“Andrew will be responsible for developing Integrated Graphene’s global manufacturing capabilities, enabling commercial quantity international selling of Gii into North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions,” according to the company.
A chartered engineer by training, Lacey’s experience includes developing a “multi-facility manufacturing footprint” for Volvo cars, said IG, and as general manager of Autoliv – both in China – then consulting for PwC on operational improvement and capital projects for industries in Turkey, Sweden and the UK.
Gii has been demonstrated in sensors and in energy-storage capacitors.
“We are ready to sell Gii into multiple global markets,” said Lacey, “and I relish the opportunity to fine tune our manufacturing approach and capabilities.”
Eric Jaremalm has been appointed CEO of Swedish solar cell maker Midsummer, which has a 50MW factory in Italy and a 200MW factory in Sweden.
He founded Midsummer with former CEO Sven Lindström in 2004, and has since been executive v-p, COO and CFO.
In October, Lindström announced he was planning to step down, and will continue at the company executive v-p and business development manager.
“The board believes that Mr. Jaremalm contributes with great experience from the company, technical know-how and international sales work,” said board chairman Robert Sjöström.
Sjöström has been asked by the Board to also support the company’s management regarding operational issues, including those focused on market and sales.
