Hamilton stars Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones have reportedly decided to go their separate ways after six years of dating.

A source confirmed to E! News that the two actors have broken up. The couple first began dating in 2015 after meeting during rehearsals for the original off-Broadway production of Hamilton. They’d both go on to star in the Broadway production of the award-winning musical, originating the roles of John Laurens and Peggy Schuyler, respectively. Ramos proposed to Jones on Christmas Eve in 2018. Fans first started speculating that the couple might be hitting a rough patch earlier this month when Jones deleted an emotional birthday post on Instagram dedicated to Ramos. And, on Monday, Jones was seen at piano bar Marie’s Crisis singing Barbra Streisand’s iconic Funny Girl hit, “My Man.”

In an interview with People from June, Ramos said of his then-fiancée, “She’s a rock, man. She’s a pillar. What’s amazing is that she’s doing it on her own, too. She’s having her own moment.” He added regarding their joint professional successes, “That’s what you hope for in a partner. I think that’s a blessing. I’m truly just eternally grateful for her, man. I get excited when I think about it.” Last year, Jasmine won an Emmy for her performance in #FreeRayshawn, making history alongside her father Ron Cephas Jones from This Is Us for being the first father-daughter duo to win Emmy Awards the same year. She is also the first-ever Black woman to win in the outstanding actress in a short-form comedy or drama series category.
