Saturday Kitchen fans defend show as Martin Kemp flooded with criticism

BBC Saturday Kitchen Live viewers have rushed to defend guest Martin Kemp after some criticised his appearance on the programme today. Some BBC viewers moved to slam the Celebrity Gogglebox star today.

Some were left critical Martin was on the show again. Stevenson wrote: “Is Martin Kemp the default guest for #SaturdayKitchen when they can't find anyone else?”

The remarks come after Martin appeared on TV shows this week to promote his new book. Buncie wrote: “Martin Kemp appearing on every show leading up to xmas.”

Rose asked: "Lovely guy but Martin Kemp has been on a few times hasn’t he? Are they running out of people to invite on, or few personalities will get up early on a Saturday?.” And CB said: “Of all the guests in the world they could've had on, they get '80's has been' Martin Kemp on again... scrape that barrel BBC!”

But others were left delighted with his appearance. C wrote: “People complaining about Martin Kemp ‘name dropping’ ffs. You’d rather he talked about his auntie Mavis and the bloke who serviced his car? He’s very famous, he knows other famous people. #SaturdayKitchen.”

And another Martin fan defended him, writing: “He was fabulous! He grew up with the New Romantic/Blitz clubbing scene and it was great to hear the stories (I was in London at the same time so maybe I’m biased haha).” Others, meanwhile, couldn't believe how good Martin looks.

Plenty were left discussing his appearance, saying he "looks better with age". "How adorable is Martin Kemp on #SaturdayKitchen?" asked a viewer.

“Martin Kemp has got to be one of the nicest people in pop music. Great stories," a third agreed. Martin is dad to radio star Roman, the former ITV I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here star. BBC Saturday Kitchen continues on BBC One.
