Tristan was born to Natasha Henstridge and Liam Waite in October 2008, and Asher was born in September 2001.

The couple never married, and they broke up in 2004.

The same year, the single mother of two found love again, this time with Scottish singer and Pop Idol star Darius Campbell Danesh.

The couple was on-again, off-again, getting engaged, then calling it off in 2010, then having a secret wedding in 2011.

The couple later filed for divorce in 2013.

Danesh was only 30 when they married, and he became the stepfather to a 13-year-old and a 10-year-old.

However, he'd been in their lives for much longer than that.

He started dating Henstridge in 2004 when he was only 22, and the boys were only six and three.

What did Darius Campbell Danesh say about his time with Tristan and Asher?

Of the sons, Danesh said: "Natasha had two incredible children, Tristan and Asher, and I had the fortune of - over many years - being a very close friend to them and I shudder to say the word stepfather, but you grow to love these children as closely as you could your own."

He also said: "The sense I'm left with, though, is how lucky I was to make an impact upon these two young boys' lives.

"I got to play with them on the beach, to take them on holidays, I got to bring them to Edinburgh when I was in Guys and Dolls, to tell them ghost stories on the Royal Mile.

"It was amazing. So I have nothing but gratitude for this relationship.."

Danesh was found dead in his apartment on August 11, 2022.

He was just three days shy of his birthday; he would have turned 42.

His cause of death remains unknown.

His family announced his death on August 16, 2022, with a statement that read:

A statement read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh.

"Darius was found unresponsive in bed in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon by the local medical examiners' office.

"The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances.

"The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.

"We ask that you kindly respect our wishes for privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with the tragic loss of our son and brother."
