'Sudan Coup Attempt QUASHED, Government Says' Troops have taken to the streets of Sudan after what the government is calling a failed coup attempt. Sudan’s army said 21 officers and several soldiers have been arrested. Those behind the coup are loyal to the former autocrat Omar al-Bashir. For now, “All is under control.
