The Conservatives have lost almost 500 council seats across the UK to Labour and the Liberal Democrats, and have been rejected in many parts of the country they see as home. But what do these losses mean for Boris Johnson? These local elections are a good measure of public opinion ahead of the next national election, which will be held by 2024.
