Aston Villa vs Burnley live: Goal and score updates on vital night for Clarets
Hello and welcome to our coverage of Burnley’s Premier League game with Aston Villa.
It’s a massive night for the Clarets who are in the relegation zone with just four days of the season remaining. They trail Leeds United by a point and Everton by two.
The Toffees are at home to Crystal Palace tonight while Leeds are not in action until the final day and a trip to Brentford.
It means survival is in Burnley’s hands ahead of the Villa Park clash and four points from their last two matches will ensure survival regardless of other results such if the goal difference gap between the Clarets and Leeds.
Turf boss Mike Jackson could opt to retain the three centre backs he utilised in the narrow defeat at Tottenham last time out with James Tarkowski and Ben Mee not expected to be fit to feature. Jay Rodriguez could return while Dale Stephens is also likely to be back in the squad. But Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Erik Pieters are out and Matej Vydra and Ashley Westwood are long term absentees.
