Signing Jude Bellingham next summer appears to be beyond the financial means of Liverpool in a major blow for Jurgen Klopp , according to reports. The Reds have done plenty of background work on the England midfielder and were expected to be strong contenders to complete a deal with Borussia Dortmund.
Liverpool want to rival the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United for Bellingham at the end of the season. Klopp is desperate to improve his midfield with the addition of fresh talent.
The 19-year-old starlet has emerged as one of Europe’s brightest prospects and is also wanted by Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, Madrid would need to sell one of their four non-EU players as they are already at the limit of their quota, while Barca’s financial crisis is well documented.
Bellingham is widely expected to return to England from Dortmund, having made the move to Germany from Birmingham in the summer of 2020. But Liverpool face being priced out of a transfer by their wealthy Premier League rivals.
