Nick Cannon has announced that his seventh and youngest child, Zen, has died from a brain tumour.

The actor and singer shared the tragic news with viewers on The Nick Cannon Show on Tuesday and said that the five-month-old tot passed away.

Zen's health got worse during the Thanksgiving period, with the star explaining how his brain tumour grew at a rapid pace.

He explained: “Over the weekend, I lost my youngest son to a condition called hydrocephalus…brain cancer.

“It’s tough. And I have my therapist here, who’s been helping us through it.”

Nick was tearing up as he told the audience that he spent the previous weekend in California with Zen.

On Sunday, the family went to the ocean so that the star could hold his baby boy for one of the final times. He passed soon after.

Nick said during the episode that he returned to work so quickly after the tragedy as he needed to keep busy.

He said the episode was a ‘celebration of life’ for Zen and explained: "You can’t heal until you feel".

Zen was born in June, with the Masked Singer host sharing a photo of the newborn to his Instagram Stories at the time.

He had captioned the picture of a sleeping Zen: "Introducing Zen Scott Cannon 'aka Z Chillin'."

By the time Zen was only two months old, the family noticed that the little one developed a cough and had breathing problems

"We didn’t think anything of it," Nick explained. "But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine."

The family were told by doctors that the baby had fluid building up in his head and that it was, unfortunately, a tumour.

The Wild "N Out star also shares two children with Mariah Carey - twins Morocco and Monroe.

He also has Golden, four, and Powerful, 11 months, with Brittany Bell. The star shares Zillion and Zion, five months, with Abby De La Rosa.

Nick previously said the children he was having wasn't an accident.

“I’m having these kids on purpose. I didn’t have no accident,” he said on his Power 106 radio show.
