Boxing superstar Tyson Fury has reportedly been 'refused access' to the United States due to his alleged connections with wanted crime boss Daniel Kinahan.

Kinahan, 44, is understood to be the leader of the Kinahan Organised Crime Group, which has links to boxing. Fury, 33, has long been associated with Kinahan and announced in June 2020 that he had organised a two-fight deal against Anthony Joshua, offering a "big shout-out [to] Dan" at the time.

Sunday World journalist Nicola Tallant wrote on Friday evening that Fury had been prevented from entering the U.S. due to those connections. However, it's uncertain when the alleged refusal took place. Mirror Sport have contacted Tyson Fury's representatives for comment.

"Breaking - Tyson Fury has been refused access to the US on a flight from UK," tweeted Tallant. "Many other associates of mob boss Daniel Kinahan have found themselves blocked from entering US. Yikes."

Fury was ringside for cousin Nathan Gorman's stoppage win over Tomas Salek in Liverpool on Friday. The two-time world heavyweight champion then uploaded footage of him running in his native Lancashire on Saturday morning.

Kinahan has a $5million (£4m) bounty in the United States, while connected associates are also believed to be subjects of rewards. His boxing promotion company,MTK Global, was also hit with worldwide sanctions in April.

The links between Kinahan and Fury resurfaced in February when the boxer was pictured alongside the Dubliner in Dubai. Fury maintains innocence in the matter, however, proclaiming: "Because I had my picture taken with a man it doesn't make me a criminal. I'm just a boxer. There could be a criminal in this building."

As well as being suspected of dealing in drugs and weapons smuggling, the Kinahan Organised Crime Group has been linked to at least 20 murders. Fury was asked about the gang association in the build-up to his April win over Dillian Whyte but dodged the topic.

"That's none of my business and I don't interfere with anybody else's business," he said at the time. "But I do know what the media can do. Remember, I was the one witch-hunted a few years back."
