Strictly Come Dancing will be making its long-awaited return this evening and bringing the glitz and glamour back to our television screens in a brand new series. Since the first celebrity contestant was announced in early August, fans have been eager to know which professional dancer this year's contestants will be paired with.

The launch show was originally due to be broadcast on Saturday, September 17, but was postponed in wake of the Queen's death as it fell within the period of National Mourning. It was rescheduled and will now be airing this Friday, with the first live show taking place this weekend.

The famous faces taking part in the 2022 series are Ellie Simmonds, Ellie Taylor, Fleur East, Hamza Yassin, Helen Skelton, James Bye, Jayde Adams, Kaye Adams, Kym Marsh, Matt Goss, Molly Rainford, Richie Anderson, Tony Adams, Tyler West and Will Mellor.

But what time is Strictly Come Dancing back on our TV screens? Here are all the details:

What time is Strictly Come Dancing 2022 on tonight?

The Strictly launch show will be broadcast on Friday, September 23 from 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The episodes will air until 8.50pm.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will be back to host, as the 15 new celebrities will be paired with their professional partners and the four new dancers will also be introduced. There will be a performance from reigning champions Rose and Giovanni, singer John Legend and the professionals will be performing two numbers too.

Strictly fans won't have long to wait until the live shows, as they'll kick off on Saturday (September 24) night. Starting at 6.45pm and airing until 9.10pm on BBC One, the first live show will see all 15 celebrities take to the dancefloor, hoping to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, and head judge Shirley Ballas.

Viewers won't be voting in the first live show, instead the judges will give their scores and these will carried over to next Saturday's show where the public vote will open for the first time in the series.

If you miss any episodes, don't worry, they'll all be available on the BBC iPlayer.
