Iran has signalled it has no plans to retaliate after it was attacked by Israel as it played down the strikes launched against it on Friday. The muted response to the limited Israeli attack is being seen as an effort by Iran to prevent tensions escalating into a full-blown regional conflict. The Israeli strikes came after Benjamin Netanyahu was urged to show restraint by Western allies, including the US, after Iran launched its first ever direct attack on Israel last Saturday. There were fears that Israel would hit nuclear facilities in Iran, which led to threats that Tehran could weaponise its atomic programme and build a nuclear bomb. #iran #israel #attack Subscribe to The Telegraph with our special offer: just £1 for 3 months.
