UK anti-terror police investigate fatal stabbing of MP as suspect detained - BBC News

The British MP Sir David Amess has been stabbed to death while conducting a meeting with his constituents. A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Sir David, who was 69 died from multiple wounds and a knife was recovered at the scene of the attack, at a church at Leigh-on-Sea in Essex. Counter-terrorism police are leading the investigation. They say they are keeping an open mind as to the motive for the attack. The Prime Minister Boris Johnson has paid tribute to the MP, saying Sir David was one of the kindest, nicest, most gentle people in politics.
